Since all we can do here in Iowa is sit inside and watch the rain, I thought I would get busy in the kitchen experimenting with some new recipes for The Pumpkin Ranch this fall. With the help of my mom we tested 3 new recipes. We may use all of them this fall at our pumpkin patch, but one is the hands down winner for me. It’s a pecan bar and the recipe, get this, calls for 2 1/2 pounds of butter. How can that be bad, right? It’s a shortbread crust with caramel and pecan topping. They were amazing! Come out and try some this fall. Here is a picture of the caramel topping, ready to be cooked. Let’s hear it for butter and sugar!
